Like most of the states in India, Madhya Pradesh too is facing challenges with managing and controlling the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic in the country. On one hand the state is managing to keep a check on the reported new cases and at the same time the government is trying to help out its people who are working outside MP.
IPE Global’s Reform Support consultant team has been supporting government across bringing in municipal reforms across 44 ULBS. However, post the pandemic out break and nation going on a countrywide lockdown, our team has been focusing on supporting the Government initiatives to tackle the pandemic. As per the official order from the UADD, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Some of the major support provided are as follows:
• The team is supporting to mitigate issues related to people of MP who are stuck in different parts of India. We contacted the people to understand their issues and then called respective officials for their requirements related to Food and Civil Supplies, Shelter, Medical emergency, e-Pass for urgent travel and other categories. The team also attended 11,960 such complaints from people located outside, which amounted to nearly 1.5 lakh people. People from MP are working around 19 states in the country. Once the first cycle was completed the team then made a follow-up call to all people and if the issue is not addressed then calls were made again to officials. As on today the team was able to support the government in resolving 10875 complaints of 78,743 people.
• The team has also started focusing more on transport related activity of people of MP struck in different parts of India only due to higher number of reported cases across the country. As of today, the team received 5,328 complaints, relating to 46,385 people and were able to resolve 5242 complaints relating to 41,820. The government and Reform Consultants team are planning to migrate towards a web-portal based MIS system to collect and update the data.
• Recently the team has also started to handle issues related to people of other states who are stuck in MP and looking for Food, Shelter, Medical, e-Pass for Travel. Daily basis MIS is being prepared and shared to all the stakeholders. The team specifically has resolved 1,412 cases relating to 9,724 such people from other states who are working in MP.
