The project supports tourism development linked with livelihoods, environmental protection, and climate resilience. The project will finance various subprojects, including the construction and/or upgrade of visitor facilities, sanitation and solid waste management facilities, and road upgrade; reforestation and slope protection to address landslide risk; disaster risk management (DRM); and non-structural components, including tourism planning, capacity building, vocational training, and areas for participation
of the private sector.
We have been engaged to support the preparation and readiness of the ensuing project and provide necessary aid towards the technical finalisation of DPRs and identification of gaps in the sub-project.
The project promotes tourism linked to livelihoods, environmental protection, and climate resilience. We supported ADB in preparing the project, finalising DPRs, and identifying sub-project gaps. Key Impacts include:
- Economic & Social: 87,000+ beneficiaries and 2.7M visitors benefit from upgraded infrastructure, sanitation, waste management, disaster preparedness, and new jobs.
- Environmental: Climate-resilient infrastructure and nature-based solutions mitigate landslide and flood risks.
- Institutional: Strengthened frameworks for sustainable tourism and women-led disaster risk management in pilot villages.
