With a focus on modifying its funding process, the World Bank decided to become more performance-focused, in the midst of the pandemic and the ongoing economic crisis. Thus, the Program for Result (PforR) was introduced to build on the achievements of Phase 1 reforms under DPL 1, supporting the Government of Himachal Pradesh in strengthening the operational and financial performance of Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) Utility and improving access to water supply and sewerage services. The program will primarily focus on Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) area and will be implemented by SJPNL.
As a Program Management Consultant (PMC), we are responsible for setting up a Program Management Unit in SJPNL and supervise the various initiatives conducted by SJPNL. We will aid SJPNL in the successful delivery of the three result areas by regularly tracking the progress of quarterly targets against the seven Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs).
Key Result Areas
- Improved governance, managerial, and financial autonomy
- Improved efficiency, financial sustainability, and customer accountability
- Improved water supply and sewerage services
