A flagship project by USAID and IPE Global, PAHAL aims to improve access to affordable, quality healthcare for India’s vulnerable populations through innovative financing. It leverages private sector resources and new financial models to complement traditional grants with conditional and catalytic support. In collaboration with USAID and ChildFund, PAHAL introduced Mukti, the world’s first pay-for-performance instrument, to enhance TB treatment and nutritional outcomes for 10,000 patients in Madhya Pradesh. Supported by the National Health Mission and the Government of India, Mukti contributes to the goal of eliminating TB by 2025. Additionally, PAHAL includes SAMRIDH, India’s first healthcare-focused blended finance facility. SAMRIDH, in partnership with IIT-Delhi and the National Health Authority, aims to drive market solutions and innovations for improving healthcare access.
