In collaboration with NITI Aayog, GIZ is supporting the Government of Uttar Pradesh in localising and implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since 2015, the state has strengthened institutional mechanisms through a State Taskforce, Vision 2030 document, district-level taskforces, an SDG dashboard, and a Common Indicator Framework aligned with national systems.
Our Role
We are responsible for preparing and disseminating the SDG Progress Report, documenting Uttar Pradesh’s decade-long journey in advancing SDG commitments. The assignment aims to capture progress towards the 2030 SDGs, highlight key achievements and challenges, and provide actionable recommendations to accelerate implementation. The work is aligned with the National SDG Index, the Common Indicator Framework (State and District indicators), and the state’s Vision 2030 document, ensuring coherence with national priorities and global commitments. It includes indicator-wise data validation across multiple sources to build a robust evidence base, 35+ departmental consultations with line departments for integrated planning, preparation of goal-wise district profiles for targeted interventions and resource prioritisation, and documentation of scalable innovations and best practices for replication across sectors.
