As India accelerates its transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon future. @Abinash Mohanty, Global Sector Head – Climate Change & Sustainability at @IPE Global, joined as an eminent speaker at the OPEN Green Shift 2026 for a critical dialogue on “The Next Leap | Policy, Capital & the Future of Sustainable Growth” alongside other industry experts, examining how policy certainty, capital mobilisation, and institutional capacity must converge to drive the next phase of India’s green transition.
Abinash, drawing on evidence from our analysis stated that nearly 70% of India’s greenhouse gas emissions are concentrated across just 10 states, w/ 8 out of 10 Indians exposed climate extremes and emphasised that climate ambition must now be matched with #climate readiness. Mainstreaming climate action requires science-based planning, risk-informed governance, and investment-ready ecosystems that can unlock climate finance, strengthen resilience, and accelerate a just energy transition. As climate risk increasingly shapes capital allocation, this convergence will be critical to delivering the trinity of growth, jobs, and sustainability reinforcing the session’s central theme that the next leap in sustainable growth will be determined not only by the availability of capital, but by the strength of policy frameworks and institutions that can mainstream on-ground action.
