YAARI (Young Adults for Accessible, Respectful, and Inclusive Reproductive Health Initiatives), which is supported by USAID and implemented by IPE Global, is dedicated to addressing health and well-being need of individuals aged 10-24, focusing on marginalized populations, through high-impact interventions aligned with India’s FP 2030 goals. It aims to empower the young population with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions for their health and well-being, focusing on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and family planning (FP), and help them connect with opportunities to achieve their aspirations. It advocates for youth-centric, gender-inclusive, and climate-resilient SRH and FP policies through national and regional engagement.
Our Interventions
- Technical Assistance to Support Youth Platforms for SRH/FP and Climate Resilience
YAARI is establishing a National Alliance of Youth and Adolescents (NAYA) platform where diverse stakeholders, including government, partner organizations, youth-led organizations, and youth champions converge to advocate and address youth’s health and wellbeing needs including SRH/FP and its intersection with climate change. The platform engages with youth champions from state and district-level youth clubs and ensures youth voices are heard and respected in shaping policies that affect their holistic development. YAARI mobilizes financial support strategically and forms partnerships to strengthen youth health initiatives through three key approaches: supporting YAARI program activities, conceptualizing and implementing Development Impact Bonds, and utilizing blended finance models. By combining public, private, and philanthropic capital, this intervention aims to scale solutions that address healthcare access gaps and improve health outcomes for youth, especially those from marginalized communities. - Gender Equitable Futures
YAARI focuses on empowering young women and increasing their workforce participation by engaging both men and women. The intervention positions men as active enablers in supporting women’s agency through shared decision-making in contraception and family planning. Using gamified tools and interactive approaches, it transforms gender perspectives and promotes behavior change through scenarios, quests, and reflection sessions, ultimately fostering gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
- Adolescent-responsive and Disability-inclusive Health Facilities
YAARI aims to create an adolescent-responsive and disability-inclusive health facility model that provides holistic care while addressing specific needs of adolescents and youth to enable informed health decisions. It focuses on the provision of non-judgmental services by competent healthcare workforce, essential commodities, health information systems, and community engagement. - Strengthening FP/SRH Preparedness and Operational Readiness During Disaster
YAARI aims to strengthen SRH preparedness during disasters, addressing critical challenges faced by young population in emergency situations. It aims at ensuring continuous access to essential contraceptives, menstrual hygiene products, and SRH services through resilient supply chains and responsive systems.
