Leading with Equity and Inclusion

In today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape, fostering gender inclusion isn’t just a moral imperative or strategic advantage but a way to attract and retain the thought drivers of equality who help pave a strong path for the organisation. Companies and organizations worldwide are recognizing the value of diverse perspectives, and IPE Global leaves no stone unturned to keep gender and inclusion in the tapestry of what all it does.

At IPE Global, a commitment to gender inclusion isn’t just a box to tick; it’s ingrained in the organization’s DNA, driving innovation, collaboration, and success. Gender inclusion at IPE begins with a culture of respect and equity. From the top down, leaders emphasize the importance of creating an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, included and empowered to contribute their unique insights. This commitment to inclusivity is not just reflected in policies but are seen applied in practices, and day-to-day operations. One key aspect of ensuring focus on inclusion is to have the leadership accessible and approachable by all staff members, equally.  Another key aspect of IPE’s approach to gender inclusion is proactive recruitment and hiring practices. I have seen the staff of IPE representing a diverse range of individuals who come from diverse backgrounds, ideologies, ethnicities and experiences. The organisation as I witness, strives to have a space where everyone is given their due rights. But gender inclusion at IPE goes beyond just recruitment. The organization is committed to providing ongoing support and development opportunities for all employees, regardless of gender.

I am pleased to represent Centre for Knowledge and Development (CKD), which is a team of nine at the National office and 28 staff members across different States in India. CKD is led by a strong female frontrunner who embodies the essence of a strong female leader, fostering equity and inclusion within our team through her exemplary actions and unwavering dedication. With her guidance, inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword but a fundamental principle deeply ingrained in our team’s ethos. She leads by example, demonstrating the importance of embracing diversity and creating a welcoming environment where every professional evolves in the ways unique to them. Her commitment to building and nurturing a culture of belonging inspires us all to strive for excellence while celebrating our differences. While the team is lead well in its entirety, the team members also represent a group of intellectually bright and strong voiced individuals who share their opinions and perspectives for equity across intersections.

In addition to internal initiatives, IPE is also actively involved in promoting gender equality beyond the walls of the organization. This includes partnerships with local schools, community organizations and state and block level staff to encourage young women to pursue careers in fields where they are underrepresented. CKD drives all its programs with a transformative gender lens by co-creating on-ground programs with proactive solution driven interventions facilitated by the women and girls of the communities.

Fostering gender inclusion is an ongoing journey for all organisations, and IPE recognizes that there is always more work to be done. That’s why the organization regularly solicits feedback from employees and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and refine its approach to diversity and inclusion. Whether through employee surveys, focus groups, or meetings, IPE is committed to listening to the voices of its workforce and taking action to address any concerns or challenges that may arise. The organisation is not only building a more inclusive workplace but also laying the foundation for long-term success in an increasingly competitive global business environment that advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion.
