Flagship programme of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India (GoI), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) focused on poor rural youth, disadvantaged groups such as the SC/ST women, and minorities. It emphasised on market-led training programmes, partnership-based skilling, and placement delivery to ensure employability. State Project Management Unit (SPMU), Department of Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand, was the state-level nodal unit for implementing DDU-GKY in Uttarakhand.
As Technical Support Agency (TSA) for the programme, we provided technical assistance for the overall programme management of skill development initiatives in the state, enabling effective implementation of DDU-GKY at the district/block level.
Key Objectives
- Assessing areas for self-employment opportunities in Uttarakhand
- Developing policy guidelines and document repository, including formats, templates and tool kits for different functional requirements across the skilling ecosystem
- Coordinating with the Project Implementation Agencies (PIAs) & State Project Management Units (SPMUs) for various activities, including placements, industry linkages, and tracking
