IPE has well defined sectors and practices based on which it is able to provide the right mix of skills, experience and tools to help partner agencies and governments.

The sectors and practices are linked in a matrix format allowing each practice to work across all the sectors/domains. Hence, for instance, governance and capacity building as a practice is provided specific to health sector, urban sector, education sector and other domains where IPE currently works.

Health and Nutrition

We at IPE believe that investment in health sector has a large impact on well-being of the people, especially the poor and the vulnerable. IPE brings a multi-dimensional and varied approach on board in almost all areas of health and nutrition including Policy, Planning, Service Delivery, Hospital Management, Behaviour Change Communication (BCC), Health Financing and Health and Nutrition Services Improvement.

Urban Development

One of IPE’s core capabilities, the urban development sector has seen consistent work on urban development issues for the last fourteen years. IPE has seen and been the part of changes in the sector, right from the days when the whole focus was on resource mobilization to the current status where with abundance of funding from JNNURM, the focus has shifted to project design, management and maintenance. Our work has ranged from developing urbanization strategies, diagnostic studies, legal drafting, identification of interventions, designing of systems, handholding and capacity building and enhancing governance systems, among many.

Rural Development

IPE has effectively hypothesized and applied many projects with emphasis on social and rural development of the marginalized people in our society. IPE has worked in many sectors of social and economic development, each equally challenging and satisfying. Some of the sectors IPE has worked in are slum development, poverty reduction policy and capacity building, participatory learning and appraisal, community mobilisation, economic development, voice and accountability, behaviour change communication, design of social safety nets, beneficiary analysis and satisfaction surveys and poverty tracking and monitoring systems..

Environment and Climate Change

As a proactive organisation IPE has recently taken up many projects aiming at Environmental and Climate sustainability along with a healthy urbanized development strategy. IPE’s involvement in these various projects have ensured a detailed mechanism to diminish the adverse effects of carbon emissions, global warming and hence, climate change. Although a recent addition in IPE's domain, this sector has some critical projects that will help to transition this world from an economically developed mirage to an ecologically sustainable reality.

Education

Education is one of the new sectors in which IPE is establishing its foothold. IPE’s thrust on education has been mainly towards program evaluations, institutional strengthening and providing technical assistance and program management support to the implementing agencies. Having an experience of both policy level assessments to implementing concrete programmes targeted on formal and non-formal education IPE has developed a thorough understanding of issues and challenges in education sector.

Government & Public Sector

Under this highly specialised sector, we deal with pioneering reforms in the public sector. We strive to provide advisory, design and management services in emerging verticals for public service delivery such as public sector corporations, public private partnerships and special purpose vehicles, among others. IPE’s forte lies in its structured approach towards provision of able support to the government and public sector in order to improve public services and thereby satisfy the citizens.

Engineering & Infrastructure Development

Today the need for infrastructure improvement in a development project has given birth to a new branch of engineering, namely ‘Development Engineering’. IPE recognizes this need and the gap in the demand and supply and aims to provide its expertise in diverse national and international projects. We provide infrastructure solutions in projects requiring engineering and architecture in the field of sustainable planning and development including detailed project reports, infrastructure capacity development, third party monitoring and inspection, impact assessment, evaluation and design etc. IPE classifies, recognizes and deduces the limitations in a project for generating a successful result.

Tourism & Heritage Conservation

IPE takes account of this relatively new phase of the tourism industry and balances it with its demand for infrastructure development in the tourism sector. IPE believes that effective conservation of heritage resources not only helps in revitalizing the local economy of cities, but also brings about a sense of identity and belonging to its residents. Therefore it is necessary for this industry to seek assistance from professionals like IPE for highlighting wide-ranging cultural ethos and assisting in safeguarding the precious age-old treasure of heritage and culture.
