IPE has well defined sectors and practices based on which it is able to provide the right mix of skills, experience and tools to help partner agencies and governments.

The sectors and practices work through a matrix matching practice needs with domain specific knowledge. Hence, for instance, governance and capacity building as a practice is provided specific to health sector, urban sector, education sector and other domains where IPE currently works.

Governance and Capacity Building

IPE believes that governance is much more than the mere absence of corruption – it is a philosophy of accountability. IPE is certain that good governance is a combination of many characteristics ranging from equity and accountability to transparency and efficiency. For this reason, IPE focuses on the three levels of Institutional, Organisational and Individual development, also known as Capacity Building Practices in order to bring about the change in systems, processes, skills, attitudes and services. IPE has an overlapping three fundamentals of capability, accountability and responsiveness to pursue capacity building for good governance.

Economic and Financial Management

We work to enhance public financial management efficiency, from planning to resource allocation, by undertaking Medium Term Expenditure Framework, Public Expenditure Reviews, Regular Financial Monitoring, Feasibility Studies, Public Expenditure Tracking Studies, Budgeting and Accounting systems and Maintenance of financial records for better Public Financial Management. IPE also uses ICT, especially softwares, for better monitoring of finances.

Programme Design and Management

At IPE, we believe that half of the success of a programme is in its design – hence we go through a robust process of situation analysis, diagnostic studies, stakeholder analysis, consultations and then arrive at the contours of the likely programme. The proposed programme interventions, and arrangements are then shared with the stakeholders and based on their feedback, the design is finalised. Our technical experts not only help our clients to clarify their goals and objectives but also analysing alternative measures to achieve them.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Regular M&E helps in improving performance of the projects through various performance indicators. The key to our success is in-depth knowledge and understanding of programmes, setting up of successful monitoring systems and an Eagles’ eye to identify lessons and areas of improvements. Over the time, IPE has developed many successful monitoring tools and identified the bottlenecks in current implementation and framed feasible course correction recommendations for the future. IPE’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Practice helps to keep projects on track, draw lessons from implementation and feed into future programme design.

Social and Economic Empowerment

IPE has worked in many sectors of social and economic development, each equally challenging and satisfying. Some of the sectors IPE has worked in are Slum Development, Poverty Reduction Policy and Capacity Building, Participatory Learning and Appraisal, Community mobilisation, Economic development, Voice and Accountability, Behaviour Change Communication, Design of Social Safety Nets, Beneficiary analysis and Satisfaction Surveys and Poverty Tracking and monitoring systems.

Information Communication Technology

We use our domain knowledge to help agencies adopt innovative e-governance and m-governance solutions through requirement analysis, software design, development, testing and deployment for enhanced satisfaction of users.

Knowledge Initiative

In order to address the emerging issues of development in South Asia and Africa and to leverage its vast experience IPE Global has set up its Knowledge Initiative (KI). The aim of KI is to consolidate IPE’s learning and provide research and advisory services in emerging areas of international development; provide policy support and build capacity of government, para-statals, international agencies and NGOs to address development challenges; document, dialogue and disseminate good policies and practices in sustainable development; promote innovation through technology and other means to find non-conventional solutions for development issues; and provide opportunities for corporates and other agencies to participate in sustainable social development.
